Flying Bats, It is almost Halloween!

Hello everyone, Heather here.  Since it is almost fall  I felt it was time to go all out for Halloween, and since there are so many awesome stamps to choose from at Victorine Originals, I went with the Flying Bats and made them the center piece of my card.

I started by stamping the Flying Bats (3047-F) in the top center area with black versafine ink and then heat embossing them with black embossing powder, which gives it an almost velvety look in person.  I then took Distress Oxide Inks in Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade and using a piece of masking paper I cut a circle out and inked the center, my circle die had a stitched edging and I was not sure if I would like it, but when done I found that I liked that added detail of color and feel it gives it an original look.  I removed the mask and spritzed with water, which gave it a little texture and made some of the water fade a bit.  I also used my Spectrum Noir Glitter pen and covered the moon area because everything is better with some sparkle.  I cut my panel out with a stitched rectangle die and added the panel onto an A2 sized black card base.  For the final touch I added some Nuvo Glow In The Dark drops in Banana Split.  I think I succeeded in having the bats stay the center of attention and made a rather clean and simple card overall.
Thanks for joining me on the blog today, see you all again soon!

Hope Has Wings Card

Hello all!  Happy Wednesday.  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with this breast cancer themed card.
I started by stamping the wings from the VO Wings stamp set on vellum, heat embossing it and fussy cutting around them.  The card base uses paper from DCWV's Minty Lace and Paper Lace 6x6" stacks.  I used white satin ribbon along the top and double sided pink satin ribbon to make the breast cancer ribbon between the wings.
To finish off the card, I added a tag with a sentiment from the VO Wings stamp set and put a tie of Pink Midnight Trendy Twine on it.   A few dots of white Nuvo Crystal Drops and it was done!
Here is a look at the stamps I used:

The sweetest things...

Good crafty morning to you all! I'm back to share another scrapbook layout.

It was a beautiful day for a walk outside, surrounded by lush grass and beautiful, blooming flowers. We cherished these moments. My mother-in-law loved being outside as much as possible, and of course, my two-year-old also jumped at the chance to be outside and run and pick pretty flowers.

These memories are ones we will cherish forever; and I love having photographic copies for when my little one grows older and her memories fade even more. For all the money and time spent scrapbooking, being able to share these memories with both our children and cherish them with my husband and his family makes it worth every cent!

With two children and a busy husband and busy life, it's hard for me to find enough time to scrapbook. So, when I do, I like to knock out a whole bunch of pages at once. This is one way to do that. There are some super talented people out there who design workshops that turn out anywhere from 6-18 pages at one time. This layout was one of those workshops.

It can be harder to match pictures to a pre-designed layout, but I like the challenge of making it work. I get a thrill when I find the perfect pictures that make the layout looked like it was designed just for them.

Sometimes it's the little, fun embellishments that make your pages really pop. They highlight the memories the way they should be. Sparkly hearts, wooden tags and paper ribbon bows work so well with the stickers to make this page special.

I finished it off with the Sweetest Things sentiment. Looking back on those moments, I know those words are so true. It's hard to remember that sometimes when you're in the rat race we call life, but these pictures and layouts prove that point.

Thank you so much for joining me today and letting me share my precious memories with you. I'd love to hear from you!

Fall Birthday Wishes....

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
Theresa here, from Theresa's Crafty Creations
and it's my day to take over the blog!!

I thought I would show you a lovely
Fall Birthday Card I made for a friend of
mine - I was thinking of her and thought she might
enjoy receiving this in the mail -

Since her birthday is during the month of September,
Fall Colors Screamed to me along with a little bit of Gold!

So I pulled out the Lovely Bird Cages (74834-K)  Stamp set
I heat embossed it in gold on a piece of Vellum - Then I
decided I wanted the Bird Cages to be my focal point --

so then I pulled out a piece of Water color paper and some
Distress Oxides (Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint,
Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen) - After distressing
my watercolor paper I sprayed some water and lifted off
some of the drops with a towel -
Then I had to add my favorite Sparkle Shimmer Spray -
and let it all dry -
Once the water color paper was dried I added a piece
of Fun Foam to the backing just for some dimension
and added it to a Dark Brown Card base -
I attached the vellum image on top of the water color paper,
using some tiny pieces of Strong Super tape -
They're hiding behind the tiny birds & the cage strips...
You can't even tell I added them! So Awesome!

Of course I wanted to add a Sentiment -
So, I used the Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink
& the Elegant "Happy Birthday" sentiment from
the Floral & Sayings (10549-X) Stamp Set.
It fit perfectly on the Stitched Banner Die -

I was going to add some embellishments...
But I really like the simple elegance with
the gold embossing and Fall colors as the background -

Soccer Ball Slider Birthday Card

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

Today is my day to take over the blog.  This is my second card using
Soccer Ball (1440-B) as the focal point of a Birthday card.

Card Recipe:
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb used for all paper except black heavyweight cardstock from my stash used to create silhouette of soccer play that was cut using my Cricut Explore Air. I stamped the soccer ball using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, fussy cut the soccer ball and applied versamark embossing ink over the whole ball. I applied WOW clear embossing powder and heat set using my heat gun. I repeated this process a couple times so that my ball has a very glossy look to it and to make it even stiffer.  I then went about creating the background. I took the Lawn Fawn grassy border die and die cut a scratch piece of paper to use as my stencil/mask. Using various colors of green distress inks I blended the grass as shown.  For the sky I used various blue distress inks and my blending tool to achieve the look. To create the slider channel I used the My Favorite Things DIE Namics Surf & Turf dies.

Game Day!!!

Game Day!!!

Good morning crafty friends, I am here today sharing a canvas I made.

Today I'm sharing a project with you that is a little different than my normal mixed media canvas peices.
I am using the football stamp from our own Victorine Originals.

Here is my canvas.

I started out with a blank canvas and paint it blue.  I used two different color blues and mixed them as I was painting to cover the entire canvas.
I then came back and painting paw prints and tiger stripes on the canvas.
At this point I knew it needed a lil more edge, so I painted on claws and claw marks.
I also had a blank wooden football I knew I was going to use. I painted it to look like an actual Football and then stamped this cool football stamp right on the football.
I also added the number 29.

The number 29 represents my son's Jersey#.
He is playing football this year. And really has it in his heart to play.
I'm not the normal sports mom. He did play basketball last year and was in karate a few years before that.
But this is a whole new level for me.
I don't watch football but I'm sure learning the game now that he is playing. Or at least trying to.

The name of the Team is the Tigers.
When I knew I was going to use this stamp, I knew I was going to do something for my son's wall.
I actually had started out wood burning on the wooden football but it became a quick fail.  I'm am still fairly new to wood burning and it just wasn't turning out the way I had planned. I think we all have these days or projects.
I ordered a new wooden football and was on my way yet again.
I used his Jersey as inspiration, so I thought it was more meaningful to take the photos with it in the background.
He loves it by the way.
You can visit my blog here for more projects and inspiration.

Don't forget to join in our challenge that is still going on right here at Victorine Originals.

Here is the mood board

And the theme is fall sports.
So you can either use fall, sports or anything the mood board, even colors.
I can't wait to see your projects.

Wedding Congratulations

Heather here to share my newest creation.  It has been a whirlwind of activity around my house lately as my eldest son got married and I of course needed a card to reflect the happy couple so I reached for the prettiest stamp I have ever seen.

I used the Wedding Couple Silhouette (74825-M) that I stamped on a layer of medium grey card stock to match the A2 sized top folding card base with black onyx versafine ink, I then sprinkled Nuvo Glitter Embossing Powder in Glitter Noir over the stamped image and heat set. I cut this layer out with a scalloped stitched die from my crafty stash and then cut the second layer out of vellum with the next size up scalloped stitched die.  I used a dark grey card stock for the third layer of the card and then I used fun foam between all layers prior to adhering to the card base. I also added some silver metallic thread under the top layer for some added color, as I kept the card pretty monochromatic.

I stamped the "Congratulations" using the Elegant Sayings (10517-X) stamp set in black onyx versafine ink and heat set with clear embossing powder on vellum to match the second layer of the card.  I love this font and felt it would be perfect layered over the stamped couple silhouette. I then ran the vellum through my sticker maker and layered it over the couple.  I like how it is still see through yet completely stuck down and there is no visible glue.

I then added some Clear Crystals to the wedding bouquet and sealed with some glossy accents for added dimension and sparkle.

This card came together beautifully and I am sure the happy newlyweds will love it.
Thank you all for joining me on the blog today.

Play Ball

Welcome back! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing an easy to create Baseball themed card featuring the Baseball Set.

This is the Baseball Set and look at all those fabulous red rubber stamps. There are so many possibilities with this one set and I love the vintage look. And if you join the current challenge you could win this very stamp set. All the details are below.

Another easy to create card with a little masking that is so simple! Great for beginners. I start by stamping the baseball on post-it sticky paper, fussy cut around the ball and set to the side, using my stamping tool I position the baseball in the center of my panel and stamp it using Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple, be sure you let this dry before applying the mask, apply the mask over the stamped baseball image, stamp the baseball bats using Distress Oxide in Stained Walnut, I added the little accents using Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans, remove the masking, and you're done stamping.  I used Doodlebug Designs Homerun paper to cover my cardbase, added fun foam to the back of my die-cut panel and adhered to cardbase. I really enjoy making cards that can be used for several different occasions like this.

Here's a closer look.
Remember you still have time to join our current challenge, using this inspiration board, for a chance to win the Baseball Stamp set.
